Modelio 3.8: Methodological links

Modelio 3.8 introduces a new 'Methodology' feature to precise the semantics of links.

Historically, traceability links were brought by imprecise, untyped links. Their vague semantics (all links were named "trace"), and lack of linking rules (anything could be linked to everything) made it impossible to get a precise model.

Modelio offers a solution by using methodologies. A methodology is a set of precisely typed business-related methodological links. It brings a set of links which scope is one of the business at hand, and which are properly named in order to produce a valuable model.

Modelio: New version 3.7 Improves BPM/BPMN support and provides dedicated GUI for each user profile

Modeliosoft is proud to introduce our new Modelio 3.7 version, which enhance Modelio users’ experience.

New "Document" view on model elements

For each model element, Modelio manages many document related features. As a convenient way to handle this, a dedicated document view has been created. By selecting a model element, the user accesses:

  • Its textual descriptions,
  • Related diagrams (focused on the element and where the element appears)
  • Matrices
  • Linked internal and external documents
  • Document previews
  • Document generation and document attachment actions.

The document template editor has been renewed in order to increase its power and ease of use.

ArchiMate® is the Open Group standard used for Enterprise Architecture modeling. The Modelio BA - ArchiMate EA product is one of the first tools to obtain the ArchiMate® 3 tool certification.

archimate3 tool certified

This tool is dedicated to Business Analysts & Business Architects working on Enterprise Architecture modeling.
It covers all architecture domains (Vision, Business, Application, …). The Modelio repository covers the entire EA spectrum (Requirement analysis, Goals, Risks, ArchiMate, UML, BPMN) in order to fulfill all the architects practices. It also meets the needs for high level services (Document generation, Impact analysis/traceability, …). Modelio supports import and export of ArchiMate 2.1/3.0 models.
With its refinement support, you can easily start modeling from legacy models and moving to high level modules or vice versa.

The Modelio extensibility capacity allows to adapt the tool to your own context.
