The new Modelio 3.8 release brings new services that enhance the user experience of modeling. On this occasion, we invite you to a webinar presenting you the innovations, and the advantages which you will benefit from.

We will remind you of developments in recent years, and you will demonstrate the new capabilities of the tool.

Modelio 3.8 innovations

  • New "methodological links", adaptable to different contexts, which bring fluidity and complete traceability between the following standards: UML, BPMN, ArchiMate, and more (Requirements, Goals, ...)
  • Enhanced support for collaborative work with the "Constellation" environment: the definition of collaboration procedures, with the support of the "workflow" based on contributing roles, further enriches this support.
  • Methodological support for business process modeling, with guides, modeling capabilities, and dedicated templates and matrices.
  • Improved ergonomics with new icons, more visible and more representative of the concepts.
  • Support for "Microsoft PowerPoint" and "LibreOffice Impress" generation formats, and new templates. Improvement of the ergonomics of the template editor, with a preview of the expected result, new navigation and production nodes.

Modelio 3.8: Methodological links

Modelio 3.8 introduces a new 'Methodology' feature to precise the semantics of links.

Historically, traceability links were brought by imprecise, untyped links. Their vague semantics (all links were named "trace"), and lack of linking rules (anything could be linked to everything) made it impossible to get a precise model.

Modelio offers a solution by using methodologies. A methodology is a set of precisely typed business-related methodological links. It brings a set of links which scope is one of the business at hand, and which are properly named in order to produce a valuable model.

Modeliosoft is proud to introduce our new Modelio 3.7 version, which enhance Modelio users’ experience.

New "Document" view on model elements

For each model element, Modelio manages many document related features. As a convenient way to handle this, a dedicated document view has been created. By selecting a model element, the user accesses:

  • Its textual descriptions,
  • Related diagrams (focused on the element and where the element appears)
  • Matrices
  • Linked internal and external documents
  • Document previews
  • Document generation and document attachment actions.

The document template editor has been renewed in order to increase its power and ease of use.
